Guna, MP Dec 20 (UNI) Journalists took recourse to 'Gandhigiri' to protest misbehaviour by a local BJP legislator in Ashoknagar district in Madhya Pradesh.

After being allegedly ill-treated by MLA Jagannath Singh several times during the past week, mediapersons expressed their anger by tying black strip on their mouths yesterday.

A memorandum was also submitted to District Collector Geeta Mishra demanding apology from Mr Raghuvanshi.

Journalists have now decided to gift a 'pens' to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and senior BJP leaders to mark their protest in 'Gandhigiri' style.

Local journalist Mridul Jain said that they would continue their agitation until the MLA apologised.

District BJP President Subhash Jain told UNI that mediapersons tried to intrude in a confidential meeting on December 17 and made hue and cry when they were asked to leave.

''Media was not invited in the meeting and now by all this protest it is making a mountain out of a molehill,'' Mr Jain added.
