Chandigarh, Dec 20 (UNI) The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) today held state-wide demonstrations to protest against alleged largescale irregularities in the Below Poverty Line lists and gave a memorandum to the Governor demanding cancellation of these lists and holding of a fresh BPL survey.

Accusing the Hooda government of including the names of its ''undeserving favourites'' in the list and ''playing with the future of the poor in the state,'' the INLD activists held protest rallies and burnt the chief minister in effigy in some places.

INLD General Secretary and MP Ajay Singh Chautala, who led the slogan-shouting protesters at Kurukshetra and state INLD president Ashok Arora, who led the protesters at Fatehabad, lashed out at the Hooda government over the issue saying the Congress regime had ''betrayed the poor, especially in the rural area'' and demnded a fresh surcvey.

Protest rallies were also held at Kaithal, Rohtak, Panipat, Panchkula, Hisar, Ambala, Jind, Gurgaon, Sirsa, Jhajjar, Sonepat and Yamunanagar and other districts.
