Shimla, Dec 20 (UNI) Expressing satisfaction on the turnout of voters throughout the state in the assembly polls, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today claimed that the Congress would form the next government in the state.

''The Congress' position is very sound in the whole state and we will get an absolute majority to form stable government in the state,'' he said in a release here.

Mr Singh said that the claims of the BJP chief ministerial candidate Prem Kumar Dhumal to form the next government were false and based on so-called exit polls.

''There were 5,946 polling stations spread in the whole state, I wonder how many of these polling stations have been covered under these exit polls,'' said Mr Singh.

It was nothing more than a farce and propaganda to mislead the people of the state, he added.
