Mumbai, Dec 20: The Indian arm of the Sociable Intellectual Progressive (SIP) Academy of Malaysia will organize the 4th National SIP abacus, brain gym, mental and arithmetic competition here on Sunday to select the national prodigy.
About 5,000 children in the 5-12 years age group from 19 states across the country are expected to participate in the day-long event, which will see them competing with each other in abacus, brain gym, mental and arithmetic activities, said a statement issued here yesterday.
The annual competition is a test of a child's intelligence, speed and accuracy. The world-class whole brain development programme, integrates various methods of learning techniques, unique to SIP programmes like abacus, brain gym and speed writing.
In this unique competition, children are given five minutes to solve a question paper containing 125 arithmetic sums.
SIP Academy India has been conducting their programmes since January 2002. Having already trained more than 50,000 children, today the Academy has 15,000 children enrolled in their 400 learning centres across 19 states.
