London, Dec 19 (UNI) Diana dreamed about leading a 'middle-class life' by marrying heart surgeon Hasnat Khan, the inquest into her death was told yesterday.
The princess was deeply in love with Dr Khan and wanted to live a middle class life after marrying him, Diana's cofidante Mrs Flecha da Lima told the inquest by a videolink from Brazil.
''She said she wanted to marry Hasnat but I told her: 'You're not a middle-class princess and you can't dream of living a middle-class life, she was dreaming and I don't think marriage was ever likely to happen,'' she told the inquest.
The princess hinted to friends that she would like to start a new life in South Africa with Mr Khan, with whom she was ''in love''.
But Mrs Lucia Flecha da Lima, wife of the former Brazilian ambassador to London told her to put the idea out of her mind, saying that she was not a ''middle-class princess'', the Daily Telegraph reported.
She also said she did not believe the princess's relationship with Dodi Fayed in the summer of 1997 was particularly serious.
