Bhopal, Dec 19 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh BJP today decried charges levelled by the Congress over much-debated dumpers' purchase issue as ''bundle of lies''.
In a joint statement issued here today, state BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar and several cabinet ministers said the Congress should refrain from dirty politics of character assassination.
''By raising dumpers' purchase issue time and again, Opposition Leader Jamuna Devi is giving example of low politics. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has nothing to do with persons referred to as his relatives by Ms Devi,'' the statement said.
Mr Tomar said Ms Devi should inform people about activities done by them during the ten-year-old Congress rule.
Pointing out that the dumpers' purchase issue was still with the Lokayukt, he said public knew the reason behind the Congress' impatience to wait for the inquiry report. In fact, the Congress wants to affect the Lokayukt inquiry.
He challenged the Congress to disclose about dumpers hired by Congress leaders to industrial groups in Rewa.
Industries Minister Jayant Malaiya, PWD Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya, Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi and Urban Administration Minister Narottam Mishra felt that for Ms Devi it was appropriate to link Mr Chouhan to anyone with the surname 'Singh'.
They said the Opposition Leader had failed to prove these charges in the past. She should either prove the charges or resign for misleading people.
Meanwhile, Mr Chouhan's brother-in-law Sanjay Singh had issued a statement describing allegations levelled by the Congress as baseless. He said he had not hired any dumper to the concerned industry and had nothing to do with the matter.
