Shimla, Dec 19 (UNI) Mandi MP Pratibha Singh today expressed confidence that Congress will do well in the assembly elections, riding on the phenomenal development works in the state during the last five years.
Ms Singh, wife of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, said the Congress was expected to do exceptionally well in these elections following the implementation of several welfare schemes by the Centre and the state government.
The implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), which would provide at least 100 days of guaranteed job to the rural people, besides other schemes were likely to benefit the party, she told reporters here.
She said road network, educational institutions and other facilities had seen a phenomenal growth during the present Congress Government's tenure.
Congress would buck the anti-incumbency factor to return to power after the elections, the MP added.
