Jaipur, Dec 19 (UNI) Rajasthan Civil Supplies Minister Kirorilal Meena today insisted that he will not withdraw his resignation.

Breaking his silence over the resignation drama, he said he had sent his resignation to the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on December 13 and again on December 16 through his wife Golma.

However, the state party leadership had been insisting that the minister had sent only a letter and not his resignation.

Mr Meena said his resignation had been publicised as a drama and he was so much pained by it that he has decided not to take back his resignation on any account.

Mr Meena refuted the charge that he had been using the threat of resignation to pressurise the Chopra Committee and the Government not to confer the ST status to the Gujjars.

While appealing to the Gujjars and Meenas to forget and forgive, Mr Meena said he would try his level best to make a provision in the OBC list to provide a special package for the 'most backward' among the OBCs, which may be the best available option to the Gujjars, who already figure in the OBC category.

He alleged that the Gujjar agitation was part of a conspiracy to create a 'caste war' in the State and termed the demand of ST status to the Gujjar as 'unconstitutional,' and the means of violence adopted was 'unjustifiable'.
