Kohima, Dec 19 (UNI) Janata Dal (Secular) president H D Deve Gowda, accompanied by party general secretary and spokesperson Kunwar Danish Ali, arrived at Dimapur yesterday on a two-day visit to Nagaland.
JD(S) sources said Mr Deve Gowda will address a public rally at the Dimapur Stadium today as part of his party's election campaign in Nagaland, ahead of the Assembly elections in February.
After arriving at Dimapur, the JD(S) president held discussions with the state leaders of the party about the latest political scenario in Nagaland.
Later, talking to newspersons, Mr Gowda alleged the Congress had brought about instability in the national political scenario and was now engineering defection in Nagaland, which he termed as ''immoral and unethical''.
About his party's stand in the next Assembly elections, Mr Gowda said the party had not yet decided on any candidate, but asserted that the JD(S) would certainly participate in the election.
