EMI announces new album with Pandit Jasraj

Mumbai, Dec 19 (UNI) EMI Music has announced its association with ''Sangeet Martand'' Pandit Jasraj, to release a series of devotional recordings titled 'Upasana' in the city.

The devotional four CD compilation is a portrait of Pandjitji's musical pursuit and love for the almighty. The music for the series is composed by, Kedar Pandit, a musician and a prolific music composer, said a release issued here yesterday.

Pandit Jasraj said, ''The word 'Upasna' literally means 'Sitting Next To' but normally the term is used in Hinduism to denote a prescribed method for approaching a Deity or getting close to that God. Once the deity is pleased, it is said to grant the wishes of devotee.'' UNI
