Dubai bound flight from Chennai makes emergency landing
Mumbai, Dec 19 (UNI) A Dubai-bound Air India flight from Chennai, IC 905, with 121 passengers on board had to make an emergency landing at Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) here early today, after it developed a ''hydraulic snag''.
The flight landed at 0021 hrs on runway 09, an official spokesperson of the Airport confirmed and added that on landing, the aircraft came to a halt near the point of intersection of the two runways (09-27 and 14-32). Since the aircraft was unable to move any further on its own power, a tow tug was provided to move it out of the runway.
Full emergency was withdrawn at 0025 hrs, once the flight landed safely. All the 121 passengers and crew members disembarked without any difficulty.
As the aircraft of the erstwhile Indian Airlines, which has now merged into Air India, was close to the runway intersection, runway 14-32 could not be made available for landing and take-off. This resulted in two flight diversions.
