Contempt notice issued to UP chief secretary
Lucknow, Dec 19 (UNI) Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today issued notice to Uttar Pradesh chief secretary P K Mishra in a contempt case and asked for a reply within two weeks.
The order was passed by Justice Sanjay Mishra after hearing a contempt petition filed by Shaksharta Niketan Welfare Association.
The petition states that following the management dispute of the Association, the court had appointed the CS as the receiver of the body and asked him to oversee its day-to-day working.
In June 2007, Mr Mishra convened a meeting and took several decisions, including appointment of a director.
According to the petitioner, it was a contempt of court order, since Mr Mishra was not authorised for it.
