BJP candidate alleges murderous attack on him
Kangra, Dec 19 (UNI) The BJP's Kangra district president and its candidate from Sulah constituency, Vipin Parmar today alleged that a Congress worker attacked him without any provocation soon after he came out of the polling booth after casting his vote.
Mr Parmar said that soon after he came out from the polling booth at his native village of Nanu, a Congress worker, identified as Inder Parmar, attacked him and left him injured, besides tearing his clothes.
''I have lodged a complaint with the Palampur Police Station following the incident and brought the matter in the notice of the Election Commission, seeking strict action against the Congress and the party worker,'' he said.
The
Congress,
however,
dismissed
the
accusation
as
a
''ploy
to
gain
voter
sympathy.''
Questioning
the
veracity
of
the
allegation,
the
party
leaders
countered,''why
would
a
government
official
take
the
risk
of
attacking
a
candidate
of
another
party
and
that
too,
without
any
provocation''?
