Amritsar, Halwara shiver at 0.6 degree celsius

Jalandhar, Dec 19 (UNI) The holy city of Amritsar and Halwara airbase near Ludhiana today turned out be the coldest places in Punjab with both the places recording the minumum temprature at 0.6 degree celsius.

A Defence spokesperson here today said that a thick fog enveloped several areas in the region reducing visibility to nil.

Adampur airbase near Jalandhar, showed increase in the minimum temperature from yesterday's 0.6 degrees to 4.2 degree celsius, 0.4 degrees above normal.

The minimum temperature at Pathankot hovered around 5 degrees, while Bathinda and Chandigarh registered 3.4 degrees celsius each.

For the next 24 hours, the Weather Office has predicted fog, mist and haze in the morning and partially cloudy sky during day and haze by evening.
