Wipro forays into lighting retail outlets business

New Delhi, Dec 18 (UNI) To tap the Rs 500 crore retail lighting market, Wipro today announced its foray into the premium range of landscape and retail stores lighting and Yuva range of seating systems for office.

The company which has already done the lighting for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Bangalore Airport, has partnered with Reliance retail, Amby Mall and airports across India to provide lighting solutions to them.

''The company is working closely with architects to provide customised solutions with modern applications such as intelligent lighting controls to save energy and give an aesthetic dimension to the work places,'' Chief Executive- C&I Business, Rajesh Kochhar said.

On the office modular furniture, the company has installed over one lakh workstations for both Wipro and other customers across India.

''We work very closely with our customers. We have invested in space planning and product design teams and have also invested in back-end operations,'' General Manager, Furniture Business, Parag Kulkarni said.

Wipro has priced its office furniture between Rs 5000- 15,000 and has clients like Bharti, Honeywell Automation, Kotak Group, Biocon etc in its kitty.

Wipro Furniture and Wipro Lighting is part of its Consumer Care and Lighting Group which has a presence in the retail market of toilet soaps, hydrogenated cooking oil (vanaspati), baby care products, lighting, switches etc.
