Transmission network to be strengthened in Sonepat

Chandigarh, Dec 18 (UNI) In order to further strengthen the transmission and distribution network in Sonepat district, the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam have jointly initiated various developmental works under which one 400 KV sub-station will be set up during 11th five year plan at Mohana.

The existing 33 KV sub-station Bega would be upgraded to 132 KV level and new 33KV sub-stations will be set up at Sisana, Bhogipur and Bichpari with initial installed capacity of 8 MVA power transformers.

Giving details, a spokesman said here today that Power Utilities had observed around 14 per cent load growth in Sonepat district due to rapid urbanisation and industrialisation and being a part of National Capital Region.

In view of future load, another 400 KV substation was likely to be set up in the district by the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and the HSIIDC also planned to construct a 220 KV substation at HSIIDC Rai and 132 KV sub-station at Kundli to meet the demand in industrial sector.

The UHBVN has approved further augmentation of 33 KV substation Bahalgarh, Khanpur Kalan, Sugar Mill Sonepat and Farmana during the current year.

The proposal to install additional 25 MVA transformer at 132 KV substation Murthal and 16 MVA transformer at 220 KV substation Fazilpur was under consideration.

After augmentation of existing substations' capacity and construction of new substations, there would be a considerable consistency in the transmission system, improvement in voltage and will also give way to release new connections to prospective consumers.
