Mumbai, Dec 18 (UNI) Royal Orchid Hotels, India's fastest growing chain of hotels, announced the acquisition of a 30-acre property at Dar es Salaam, the capital city and economic centre of Tanzania, for building a beach resort.
Talking to reporters, Royal Orchid Hotels Chairman and Managing Director Chender Baljee said, ''The investment reflects our aggressive growth plans.'' He added that there is scope of tourism and business in the region, as it is India friendly.
The property is strategically located in the city that is regarded as the gateway to east Africa, both in terms of commerce and tourism, he said and added that the proposed beach resort will have a contemporary African theme, featuring 150 rooms with facilities for a full fledged spa, swimming pool and water sports.
He said that the property will be the group's first outside India, for which the company might tie-up with international architects for designing a world class look for the resort.
