President honours 28 Hindi Sevi scholars

New Delhi, Dec 18 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today honoured 28 Hindi Sevi scholars for the year 2005 and 2006 at a function presided over by Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh.

The awardees are: GANGASHARAN SINGH PURASKAR For the year 2005 Dr R Venkatkrishnan Mr K M Samuel Mr Furailaptam Gokulanand Sharma&Sh. H. Pehlira (joint) Mr Navneet R Thakkar&Mr Sutikshan Kumar Sharma 'Anandam' (joint) For the year 2006 Prof Sheikh Mohd. Ikbal Dr T V Kuttimany Prof Indernath Choudhury Mr Shashikant Raghunath Joshi&Mr Vilas Sonu Suralkar (joint) GANESH SHANKAR VIDYARATHI PURASKAR For the year 2005 Mr Bharat Dogra Mr Ramesh Upadhyay For the year 2006 Mr Sharad Dutt Ms Ramnika Gupta ATMARAM PURASKAR For the year 2005 Mr Devender Mewari Dr Mahendra Madhup For the year 2006 Dr Khadag Singh Waldiya Ms Rekha Agarwal&Mr Pradeep Sharma (Joint) SUBRAMANYAM BHARTI PURASKAR For the year 2005 Mr Manzoor Ahtesham Prof Krishandutt Paliwal For the year 2006 Prof Kamla Prasad Mr Surajpal Chauhan MAHAPANDIT RAHUL SANSKRITYAYAN PURASKAR For the year 2005 Mr Bhagwan singh Mr Rameshchander Shah For the year 2006 Dr Sadhna Saxena Prof Shekhar Pathak DR GEORGE GRIERSON PURASKAR For the year 2005 Dr Indra Dasnayak For the year 2006 Prof Mariola Aufredi Implemented by Central Hindi Directorate, Agra, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the scheme for honoring Hindi Sevi Scholars was launched in 1989.

Under the scheme, each awardee is given Rs. one lakh, a shawl and a citation for his/her contribution for promotion and development of Hindi on national and international scale.
