Bhubaneswar,Dec 18 (UNI)The city based NRM technologies Pvt ltd today launched a Rs five crore replication and manufacturing unit with a capacity to manufacture 1.2 crore CD and VCD per annum.
Company's Chairman-cum-Managing Director Nihar Ranjan Mohanty told a press conference here that the unit had been set up with technical assistance from Singulus and Neststal of Germany and Dubuit of France.
Mr Mohanty claimed that the state-of-the-art unit was first of its kind in Orissa, Jharkhand, West Bengal, North East, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Bihar.
He said there was a mismatch in the demand and supply of CD and DVDs and ''we hope to fill up this gap'' by providing quality products at an affordable price.
Mr Mohanty said the entertainment industry such as television, film production,albums and music etc has generated a huge demand for storage. With growing demand for audio and video music cassettes and albums in Orissa, the company expected to operate the unit at optimum level, he said.
The company, the CMD, said also planned to launch its own audio and video album productions and produce Chitralekha, a music album in Oriya.
