Haryana provides subsidised wheat, rice to BPL families

Chandigarh, Dec 18 (UNI) The Haryana government is providing quality wheat and rice at highly subsidised rates to the families living Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Antyodaya (AAY) families through a network of 9566 fair price shops.

Haryana State Federation of Consumers Cooperatives Wholesale Stores Ltd (CONFED) Managing Director Anil Kumar said that under the scheme wheat was made available to BPL beneficiaries at a rate of Rs 4.84 per kg and rice at the rate of Rs 6.40 per kg.

To AAY beneficiaries, wheat was being provided at a rate of Rs 2.10 per kg.

He said each family under BPL was entitled to 25 kg of wheat and 10 kg of rice and AAY beneficiaries were entitled for 35 kg wheat per month. Sugar was provided at a rate of Rs 13.50 per kg to both BPL and AAY beneficiaries.

Mr Anil Kumar said in case the people faced any difficulty regarding availability of these items they might contact the Deputy Commissioner, District Food and Supplies Controller, District Manager, Confed of the respective District or they could register their complaint at the control room (Telephone No 0172-2701551, 2701552), especially established to receive complaint regarding non-receipt of wheat and rice under Public Distributiion System.
