New Delhi, Dec 18 (UNI) A delegation of Gujjar leaders from all over the country today threatened the BJP with reviving their countrywide agitation if the Rajasthan government delayed in making public the Chopra Committee report on conferring Scheduled Tribe status to the community in the state.

The delegation led by the All India Gujjar Sangharsh Samiti (AIGSS) chief patron Ramvir Singh Bidhuri met Mr Singh here and urged him to directly take up the matter with Chief Minister Vasudhara Raje to release the report. The delegation also pressed him to direct the state government to send a favourable recommendation to the Union government regarding the issue.

They also warned him that any adverse recommendation from the BJP government would be unacceptable and prove fatal for the party in any future polls, an AIGSS statement said.

Mr Bhiduri pointed out to Mr Singh that it was the BJP that had promised during the previous Assembly polls to confer ST status to Gujjars in Rajasthan. However, now the government seemed to be going back on its commitment which he said had not gone down well with the community.
