CSF serves deadline on Sahar Church issue
Mumbai, Dec 18 (UNI) Catholic Secular Forum, a local Catholic body, today threatened to take to the streets if the Sahar Church issue was not resolved within a month.
The Catholic body alleged that private company Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), which has bagged the contract for the expansion and modernisation of the Mumbai airport, was trying to acquire some 436 land plots, which include a 400-year-old heritage structure Our Lady of Health Church for the proposed expansion work.
''The CSF has resolved to take up the issue with all the authorities concerned at both the state level as well as at the national level, and has begun presenting memorandums to leaders of diffrent political parties,'' Joseph Dias, General Secretary of CSF told reporters during a media breifing here today.
