Jalandhar, Dec 18 (UNI) People shivered with cold, as the temperature at Adampur airbase near Jalandhar remained static at 0.6 degree celsius for the second day today, thus turning out to be the coldest place in the region.
According to a Defence spokesperson, the minimum temperature recorded at Adampur was 3.2 degrees below normal.
The holy city of Amritsar was cold at 2.6 degrees, while minimum temperature recorded at Pathankot was 6.4 degrees and at Bathinda, it was 5 degrees celsius, whereas at Halawara airbase near Ludhiana fell to 3.2 degrees.
In the Union Territory of Chandigarh, the minimum temperature hovered at around 3.6 degrees, while temperature at Ambala in Haryana was low at 2.6 degrees.
In the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the minimum temperature in Srinagar and Avantipura plummeted to minus 4 degrees and minus 4.4 degrees celsius respectively while at Jammu, it was 7.4 degrees and at Udhampur it was low at 2 degrees celsius.
For the next 24 hours, the Weather Office has predicted mist, haze in the morning and partially cloudy sky during day.
