Pramod Mahajan murder case: Munde, Gadkari welcome verdict
Mumbai, Dec 17 (UNI) BJP national general secretary Gopinath Munde and Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari today welcomed the Sessions court's verdict in Pramod Mahajan murder case, holding his younger brother, Pravin, guilty of his murder and illegal trespassing.
Mr Munde said the verdict indicates that the court had accepted the testimonies of three witnesses --ramod's wife Rekha Mahajan, servant Mahesh Wankhede and himself, and also considered late Mahajan's last statement as ''dying declaration''. Pramod had uttered to Mr Munde that 'Mee asa kay gunha kela ki Pravin ne mala golya marlya' (what crime had I committed, that Pravin shot me?).
When asked, both Mr Munde and Mr Gadkari refused to enumerate the quantum of punishment they would seek for Pravin.
''It is for the court to decide about the punishment,'' they said.
The BJP workers are joyous with the punishment, added Mr Gadkari.
