Chennai, Dec 17 (UNI) National Security Advisor M K Naryanan today said there were no activities of the banned LTTE in Tamil Nadu.
Talking to reporters, after a 45-minute meeting with Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at the latter's Gopalapuram residence here, he said ''we are fully monitoring the situation to ensure that there are no infiltration of LTTE activists into the state.'' The Sri Lankan officials were patrolling in their territorial waters and we were monitoring at our side in the Indian waters.
''There is no LTTE activity in the state,'' he asserted.
Mr Naryanan said he came to Chennai to brief Mr Karunanidhi on some issues to be discussed at the NDC meeting and the conference of Chief Ministers on internal security, as suggested by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
''I have briefed Mr Karunanidhi the issues raised by Dr Singh that will be discussed at the NDC meeting and the Chief Ministers' conference,'' he added.
To a question, he said Tamil Nadu had effectively controlled the Naxal activities when compared to other states.
On the problems faced by ethnic Indians seeking equal rights in Malaysia, Mr Naryanan said it had to be dealt with diplomatically.
