Jammu, Dec 17 (UNI) In a bid to escape from the clutches of the police, a girl accused of murder jumped from a three storeyed building and injured herself seriously in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources said today.
The girl, identified as Arti (21), was arrested by Kathua police for murdering her ex-boyfriend, along with her paramour, who is still absconding.
However, she managed to escape later from District Police Lines (DPL) and ran towards roof. ''She jumped from the third floor and attempted to end her life,'' sources told UNI, adding she got fractures in her backbone and limb bones.
She was taken to District Hospital Kathua and later referred to Government Medical Hospital Jammu. The girl was kept in DPL, as women cell in the district is non-functional for the past three-four years, the sources said.
Arti was arrested by the police on December 14, who planned and executed the murder of her ex-boyfriend, Vikrant Sharma, along with her paramour Tejinder Singh.
