Mah BJP to send one lakh workers for Ram Setu abhiyan
Mumbai, Dec 17 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari today said the party would send one lakh workers from the state to New Delhi to participate in the 'Ram Setu raksha abhiyan' on December 30 there.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Gadkari said the party does not want to bring politics in the name of Ram, but it is a question of faith.
The BJP leader said the party was concentrating on youths, tribals, schedule castes and labours to spread its base, and added that it was also undertaking a funds collection drive for the elections.
The party had also started a contribution scheme for its members, Mr Gadkari informed and said he himself had given Rs 10,001 for the same. The total fund amount collected from party workers would reach Rs two crore, he hoped.
He said the party would also organise a collective felicitation programme, wherein the senior leaders of the party will be honoured.
For this, fifty per cent of the money collected through the fund would be used in the districts, while the remaining amount will be shared equally by the state and Central BJP office.
Mr Gadkari said the BJP is against the implementation of the Sachar Committee's recommendations. The party MLC Pasha Patel has started 'Inssaf Do' abhiyan (campaign) highlighting malpractices committed by the Congress during its last 60 years of rule by taking his permission, he added.
