Mumbai, Dec 17 (UNI) Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) Workers Union General Secretary Sharad Rao today blamed BEST General Manager Uttam Khobragade for all accidents occurring in the city involving BEST buses.

Speaking to reporters today, Mr Rao said, ''Mr Khobragade has recruited drivers and conductors in the undertaking on daily wages without proper training resulting in accidents.'' More than 20 people have died in Mumbai during the last month in accidents involving BEST buses.

Mr Rao alleged that Mr Khobragade has mismanaged the undertaking and cancelled many bus routes and buses resulting in the overload of the BEST buses running in the city.

Mr Rao further alleged that Mr Khobragade has recruited more than 80 per cent of the drivers and conductors of his caste, overlooking the rules and regulations of the undertaking.
