Bhopal, Dec 17 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Assembly Opposition Leader Jamuna Devi today claimed that the Income Tax department has not given clean chit to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife Sadhna Singh over much-debated dumpers' purchase issue.

In a statement issued here today, Ms Devi said she had a letter from Chief Income Tax Commissioner M K Moghe stating that the IT department had nothing to do with media reports of clean chit being given to Mr Chouhan and his wife.

She has written to Mr Chouhan demanding clarification and apology over his statement regarding being given clean chit.

Ms Devi had demanded an inquiry by the IT department against Mr Chouhan, his wife Sadhna Singh and others for alleged corruption in purchase of four dumpers that were later hired out to the Rewa-based J P Cement company.

Later, the IT department had made it clear before media that no corruption-related case was made out against Ms Singh.
