Indian cricket team departs for Australia on confident note

Mumbai, Dec 17 (UNI) The 15-member India squad led by Anil Kumble left on a confident note to Australia by a morning flight from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport here for a four Test match series today.

Anil Kumble appeared relaxed and was confident that he a team which could go one better than what they achieved in 2002 by winning the series to create history.

The first Test is scheduled to be played from December 26 at Melbourne. The Indians would have only one warm up match, a three day fixture against Victoria from December 20-22.

The team: Anil Kumble (c), Wasim Jaffer, Virender Sehwag, Dinesh Karthick, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, V V S Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, R P Singh, Ishant Sharma, Pankaj Singh.

Assitant Coach: Lalchand Rajput; Administrative Manager: Chetan Chauhan, Travel Assistant: Russel Radhakrishnan; Physio: John Gloster; Trainer: Gregory King.
