Drunk picnicker drowns in Kali Bein

Kapurthala, Dec 17 (UNI) A picnicker drowned in Kali Bein at Kanjali picnic spot here, police today said.

The deceased, identified as Rakesh Kumar (30) of Mohalla Raika here, had gone to Kanjali picnic spot for holidaying yesterday, along with two of his friends, where they consumed liquor, police said.

The deceased went into the rivulet in the inebriated state and drowned as he was stuck in the under-water vegetation.

His body was recovered after a struggle of about one hour by the boating staff of Kanjali picnic spot, the police said.

The deceased, who was working as a driver in a factory, is survived by his wife and three children.
