Chandigarh, Dec 17 (UNI) Former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was conspicious by his absence on the opening day of the winter session of the Punjab Assembly here today.

Capt Singh had remained absent from the Budget session held in June. He had then gone abroad for a medical check up.

The only time when he was seen in the assembly after being dislodged from power in the February polls was in March when he took oath as a member of the new House alongwith the other members.

The state Vigilance Bureau had filed a charge sheet in a Ludhiana court last week in the multi crore Ludhiana City Centre scam against Capt Singh and 25 others including his son Raninder and former minister Choudhary Jagjit Singh.
