Ludhiana, Dec 16 (UNI) Eighteen people were injured, four of them seriously, when a passenger train rammed into their tempo-traveller at an unmanned level crossing near Jagraon in the district of Punjab this evening.
According to police sources, the accident happened when the overloaded tempo-traveller was crossing the railway track. The train was en route from Ludhiana to Ferozepur.
The injured were admitted to the Jagraon Civil Hospital, from where four, who were in critical condition, were rushed to the CMC hospital here.
Significantly, the accident occurred on the same Ludhiana-Ferozepur section on which a similar accident took place on Friday when a passenger train hit a minibus in Moga district, resulting in the deaths of 16 people.
