Two election officials replaced for guiding voters

Ahmedabad, Dec 16 (UNI) Two election officials were replaced by the Returning Officer in prestigious Ellisbridge Assembly constituency here this afternoon for noncompliance of guidelines and instructions of the Election Commission.

Returning Officer of Ellisbridge Constituency R K Mehta told UNI that one election officer and one polling officer were replaced for noncompliance of guidelines of EC while discharging their duties at Dinesh Primary School polling booth, in Vikas Gruh locality in Ellisbridge this afternoon.

Mr Mehta said, actions were taken against these officials after a complaint was received against them stating that the duo were guiding the voters to exercise their franchises in favour of the candidate of a particular political party.

The actions were promptly taken to avoid repetition in other places, Mr Mehta added.
