Russia sends cryogenic engine spare parts to ISRO
Chennai, Dec 16 (UNI) A 75-member Russian team arrived here early today by a special aircraft with cryogenic engine spare parts for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Airport sources said the special aircraft from Moscow landed at the old airport, carrying the spare parts. Immediately, the spare parts were unloaded from the aircraft and loaded in nine containers, which left for Sriharikota under heavy security.
The airport officials refused to divulge details about the Russian delegation.
In January 1991, the Soviet space agency, Glavkosmos, had inked an agreement with the ISRO for supply of cryogenic engines.
