Patna, Dec 16(UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said his government is committed for better financial administration in the state and would like to ensure economic development with improved audit and account sysytem.
Speaking here in a two-day national conference on internal audit, organised by Committee on Internal Audit of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India(ICAI) jointly hosted by its Patna branch, Mr Kumar said internal audit has always been significant for the audit and account system of the government, its undertakings, semi-government organisations, NGOs and for most of all to the corporate world.
He saidd the constructive role of chartered accountants in the development of a state could not be ruled out specially in the financial administration where it immensely help in draft and disposal of the projects of the government.
Reacting to the suggestion of Mr Abhijeet Bandhopadhyay, Chairman of the conference and committee on internal audit ICAI, on adoption of ''Double entry sysytem'' of internal auditing by the state government Mr Kumar said before we adopt this method, the representatives from the state government and Patna branch of ICAI should jointly chalk out a plan for better implementation of the methodology by the state government.
He suggested the ICAI delegation to meet the principal secretary of state finance department and work on its various aspects of the new method on internal audit and account.
