Bangalore, Dec 16 (UNI) A belligerent H D Kumaraswamy today challenged Congress party to inquire and bring out any lapse during his 20-month's rule.
Addressing newspersons on his 49th Birthday, the Janata Dal(S) leader asked the Congress to constitute the 5-member 'fact finding committee', it had promised earlier to 'unearth' unearth the lapses and the resulting loss to the state exchequer during his regime.
"With Governor rule in the state the Congress should have no problem to access to any information and it should come out with any such improper or illegal decision my government had taken," he said.
Claiming that as a chief minister he had not taken any decision violating the rules and procedure he said, "If Congress leaders have any charges against the previous government they should come out with proof and present it before the public, immediately," he demanded.
Mr Kumaraswamy also took exception to former coalition partner Bharatiya Janata Party, whose leaders had started making false corruption charges against him relating to mining in Bellary district. "If JD(S) was corrupt why did the BJP seek its support to form government" he asked.
Condemning BJP MP Ananthkumar's statement that JD(S) leaders had no face to face people, he said he can ascertain his doubts when JD(S) begins its 'meet the people' programme in Bidar from January first. "We will show our strength in this programme, where we will hole two public meetings in each revenue divisions, in a befitting manner" he said.
