India faces threat from China, Centre remains soft: George
Patna, Dec 16 (UNI) NDA convenor and former union minister George Fernandes today lambasted the Centre for remaining soft on China despite the fact that it was posing threats to India by claiming parts of Arunachal Pradesh (AP) as its own territory.
Addressing a meeting of socialists here, Mr Fernandes said China had claimed some parts of AP as its own territory recently but the Union Government did not bother to raise the issue with it so far.
''In recent times, the activities of China near its international border with India were a cause of concern as roads were being built and petrol pumps installed'', he added.
The UPA Government at the Centre should quit if it is finding it difficult to deal with the sitution, Mr Fernandes said, adding Congress President Sonia Gandhi also failed to raise this matter with China during her visit there last month.
