Agartala, Dec 16 (UNI) All India Forward Bloc general secretary and MP Debabrata Biswas today urged the Left Front to prepare for mid-term Lok Sabha elections in the next six months.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Biswas alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had no other way to escape from signing the 123 Nuclear agreement, as he had been trapped by the Bush administration.
Referring to four Left Front parties' decision, Mr Biswas said it had been resolved that they would withdraw support if the Congress proceeded with the Nuclear deal.
He was accompanied by West Bengal Agriculture Minister Naren Dey and West Bengal Relief and Agricultural Marketing Minister Murtaza Hussian on a two-day visit to attend the Forward Bloc state committee meeting, which began today in North Tripura.
Mr Biswas announced that the Forward Bloc would celebrate Patriot Day on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's birth anniversary on January 23 in accordance with Netaji's Nagpur declaration - ''All power to the people'' - and the party would start a march on February 19 from Haripura to Tripuri.
An international convention would be held at Tripuri on March 11 to propagate Netaji's ideology against imperialism where followers of the freedom fighter from Bangladesh, Burma and Pakistan, would participate, Mr Biswas said.
