''I will do GP for another year in 2008. I am aiming to become an F1 driver by 2009,'' he said at a press conference where his sponsor Amaron relaunched him with the brand tag 'Madras Missile powered by Amaron Pro Racing'.''I hope I will be able to live up to the Missile tag in 2008,'' Karun said, adding that 2009 was a realistic target as a number of contracts of drivers with various teams were to expire that year. Asked about driving for Vijay Mallya's launch of India's first F1 team in 'Force India', he said the option was there, ''but I don't want to be part of the team just because of the nation.'' Karun said his aim was to qualify for F1 by winning atleast five GP races as stipulated.

To a question, he said he had enough sponsors now for him to nurture his career on the tracks. ''It's only a question of finding the right team for my F1 dream to be realised,'' he pointed out.

Meanwhile, Amaron Managing Director Jay Galla said the company would continue to be an integral part of motorsport.

Karun also unveiled the new brand logo 'Madras Missile'.
