Seventeen get life imprisonment in two separate cases
Madhubani/Darbhanga, Dec 15(UNI) As many as 17 people were awarded life imprisonment by Fast Track courts in Bihar today.
Fast Track court judge Shyam Kishore Shah found 14 people guilty of killing Vanshi Mahto of Usautha village under Bisfi police station in Madhubani district. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 each against the convicts.
According to the charges, the victim was killed with a sharp weapon by the convicts on August 19,1980, following personal dispute.
In Darbhanga another local Fast Track court also awarded life imprisonment to three people, including a husband, in a dowry murder case.
Fast Track court judge Ganga Prasad found all the accused guilty of killing Ranju Devi and awarded them life imprisonment.
The victim was killed by the convicts at Sanjhauti village under Hayaghat police station in the district on June 29, 2003.
