Chennai, Dec 15 (UNI) The city based RMK&RMD Engineering Colleges will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wipro Technologies to expand industry-academic relationship, on December 17.
Mr Pradeep V Baahirwani, Vice President, Strategic Resourcing, Wipro Technologies and Mr R S Munirathinam, Founder-Chairman, RMK Group of Institutions will be the signatories of the MoU.
Talking to newspersons here last evening, Mr Munirathinam said the MoU will be signed with the prime objective of improving the employability of students and to have Wipro as prospective employer of choice.
The tie up would focus on activities like sponsoring seminars and symposia facilitate industrial visits, conduct faculty development programmes and workshops for students to enhance their knowledge base, he said adding more than 1000 students will be benefitted through these interactions.
He said the tie up with Wipro would provide a platform for an effective transfer of knowledge from the experts in the organisation.
The students could enrich their soft skills and understand the various facets of the industry. It would enable students to be placed while they are in campus.
