Reliance Energy led consortium submits bids

Mumbai, Dec 15 (UNI) The Reliance Energy Limited (REL) and Hyundai Engineering Construction Company (HDEC) consortium submitted its bid for the Rs 4,000 crore Mumbai Trans Harbour Sea-Link Project (MTHL) today.

The MTHL project entails construction of a 6 lane, 22 Kms bridge, connecting Sewri in the island city to Nava Sheva in Navi Mumbai.

MTHL will be the first of its kind bridge-across-the-sea in the country, which will result in the tremendous economic development of Navi Mumbai.

HDEC is one of the largest construction companies in the world with proven capabilities to set up mega infrastructure projects across several countries.

The REL-HDEC consortium is supported by a team of eminent consultants including 'Systra' of France, and 'BRDI' a leading Chinese bridge design company. The project is to set up in 5 years.

A Reliance Energy spokesperson said 'We are committed to the development of such projects which are critical to the infrastructure development of the City" Seaking Infrastructure Pvt ltd promoted by Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has also submitted its bid for the project.
