New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) In a humanitarian gesture, AICC General Secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi lent a helping hand to a seriously injured car accident victim unknown to him last night here.

While passing in front of the Ashok hotel in Chanakyapuri around 2000 hrs, Mr Gandhi saw a senior official of a pharamaceutical company Neeladri Saha lying under his car in a severely wounded condition.

Mr Saha was earlier talking to his friend Viplav Ghosh on the roadside when a truck coming from the wrong direction hit their car, injuring Saha whereas Ghosh escaped.

Mr Ghosh told UNI that despite Saha being unknown to him, Mr Gandhi got out of his car on seeing his condition and took him out from under the car with the help of his security guards.

''Mr Rahul took off his jacket and put it under Saha's head and wiped off his blood from his hands. He himself locked Saha's car and got him admitted to the Sir Gangaram Hospital,'' Mr Ghosh said.

Meanwhile, Mr Saha's condition was improving in the hospital.
