Patna, Dec 15 (UNI) Several IPS officers in Bihar have refused to surrender their service revolvers, even after their superannuation or transfer.
Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav here today said the government was seriously exploring ways for recovering the service revolvers from the officers.
''Among nine IPS officers, who were in possession of service revolvers, four were on Central deputation, one had been transfered to Jharkhand, three of them had retired, while the another was no more alive,'' he added.
''The matter would be looked into and appropriate action would be taken against the erring officers,'' Mr Prasad warned, adding that letters had already been sent to them for depositing the arms.
Mr Prasad, however, refused to divulge the names of the erring officers, saying the state government was only interested in recovering the service revolvers and did not intended to defame them.
