JK: Girls outshine boys in results 10th class

Srinagar, Dec 15: Girls outscored boys in the class 10th results today, securing first eight positions in the Kashmir valley.

Aashna Jamal of Presentation Convent secured first position by getting 97 per cent. Aliya Akhtar Mir of the same school bagged second position securing 96.80 per cent (484 marks) while Seiyab Khajawal of Mallinson Girls School bagged third position with 96.40 per cent (482 marks).

Almost all the 20 positions were won by students of private schools.

As many as 38072 students from different schools in the valley took part in the examination. Out of these, 32690 have passed (62.22 per cent).
