Congress gets record votes in MP bypoll
Khargone, MP, Dec 15 (UNI) Congress candidate Arun Yadav defeated his nearest BJP rival Krishna Murari Moghe by a record 1,18,638 votes in a 11-cornered contest in Lok Sabha by-election to Khargone in Madhya Pradesh.
Mr Yadav surpassed previous best by his father and state Congress President Subhash Yadav, who had defeated his nearest rival and BJP nominee Rameshwar Patidar by 67,202 votes during Lok Sabha elections in 1984.
Mr Arun Yadav also bagged record number of votes by polling 3,92,092 votes. The previous best was by Congress nominee Tarachand Patel 3,54,133 votes during Lok Sabha elections in 1998.
