Chandigarh, Dec 15 (UNI) The Haryana Government has formulated a policy under which no bio-product would be allowed to be sold in the state unless the manufacturers have got the bio-efficacy of their product tested by Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar.
Agriculture Director Sumita Misra said the manufacturers of bio-products who were interested to sell their bio-product in the state had been advised to approach the university for getting the bio-efficacy of their products tested by furnishing the details of the products.
The details should include the composition of the product, name of the recomended crop, purpose of application, time of application, method and stage of application and MRP of product, she said.
The farmers were also advised to use only recommended products and to procure the bill or receipt of the inputs being purchased by them.
The BIS or any other quality standards which had not been developed by Government of India for the products which were not included under Fertilser Control Order, 1985, she added.
Ms Misra said the Sale, stocking and pricing of fertilisers, bio-fertilisers and organic manures were being regulated by the Central enactment. A number of products which were not covered under the order were being marketed by the various manufacturers in the name of bio-products.
