SAK to launch indefinite economic blockade from Jan 27

Dumka, Dec 14 (UNI) Demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for tea-tribes of Assam and tribals residing in other parts of the country, the Sanyukta Adivasi Karyasamitee (SAK) would launch an indefinite economic blockade from January 27 next year.

Talking to newspersons here today, JDP president and former MP Salkhan Murmu said the blockade would be effective in Assam and some parts of Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

The SAK comprising the Jharkhand Dishom Party, Adivasi Kobra Military of Assam and All India Adivasi Youth Students Union, would also hold a one-day economic blockade on December 17 to mount pressure on the government for fulfillment of their demand.
