Media can publish Lokayukta reports: Balasubramanyam
Madikeri, Karnataka, Dec 14(UNI) Karnataka Lokayukta Director (Health) Dr R Balasubramanyam has said that delay in giving more power to Lokayukta has prevented it from taking action against corrupt IAS and IFS officers.
Addressing 'Spandana' programme organised by Journalists Association, Virajpet yesterday, he said that the Bill passed by previous Kumaraswamy government to accord more power to Lokayukta is pending before the Governor. "The delay in empowering Lokayukta is holding it back from taking action against corrupt officials including IAS and IFS officers".
Stating that corruption is crossing its limit, Dr Balasubramanyam said that corruption could be rooted out only with joint effort of public and Lokayukta.
He said that the media can publish the Lokayukta reports by securing the same through Information Act. "Press and Lokayukta should act together to cleanse the society," he added.
